WORKSHOPS

Programme for the second WORKSHOP!

The workshop will take place on Wednesday 28th February from 14:00 to 17:00 (yes, it is obligatory!) at the Salle des Fêtes, Massillon (entrance: 5, rue Bansac, Clermont-Ferrand). Claire and her team members will be at the door to welcome you and show you the way to the Salle des Fêtes. Please be on time!

14:00 Check folder contents: The 5Ws of your speech What makes a great speech? ; How to give a good speech ; Jury marking criteria ; list of candidates + an A3 poster to put up in your lycée. Please give a copy of your speech text to PN (you must give your final version to the President of the Jury on the day of the competition!). Any questions about the 14th March? Just ask!

14:15 Listen to a story told by Mme Uberti, professional storyteller.


14:30 Q&A with Mme Uberti about storytelling (content and delivery) ; discussion about using personal anecdotes for our speeches.

15:00 Watch and comment two speeches (+ juice and biscuits! 😋).

15:30 Go to the Centre Culturel Jules Isaac at 20 rue des Quatre-Passeports, a 15 minute (1,3km) walk from Massillon.


16:00 Guided visit of the Centre Culturel with Mme Lamoine, followed by a discussion of the 2018 “Speak out!” topic with Monsieur Hagège, the rabbi. 

17:00 Go to Place Gilbert Gaillard for our “taxis” (5 minutes away).

Please bring a pen, a notepad, lots of questions and energy!

Programme for the first WORKSHOP (😏yes, it is obligatory!):

The workshop will take place on Wednesday 17th January at the Salle des Fêtes in MASSILLON.

Please meet at the entrance hall (5, rue Bansac entrance) at 14:00 (please do not be late!).

The AIM of the workshop is to help you find an original approach to the topic "How can the world be made a better place?" as well as to help you research for and write your speech text.

The workshop is collaborative and as fun as you want it to be!

14:00 to 15:00: Mme Ferréol, Philosophy teacher, will give a lecture (with questions & answers) entitled: "Un monde humain sans affrontement est-il pensable?" 
15:00 to 15:45: Mr Nettleship will advise you on writing your speech text and answer your questions.
15:45 to 16:00: We will walk to LieU'topie (21 rue Kessler).
16:00 to 17:00: Teatime discussion with members of the LieU'topie association (Massillon will provide the "goûter"!).

Please tell your "taxis" to meet you rue Kessler at 17:00!

Please bring a pen, a notepad, lots of questions and energy, plus a few ideas (also €1 if you want a cup of coffee at the LieU'topie café!)
